I have been teaching art for the past 32 years! The Arts Academy has been my home for the past 18 years. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Art Education and I am currently working on a Masters in Art Education. My passions are teaching, learning from my students, being inspired by the great outdoors, creating sculptures from found materials, painting dogs, hiking, trail running and hanging out with my family.

I believe in giving students as much choice as possible in the art studio. WE learn together about the artistic process and develop our own creative path. I am a 'wanna be' naturalist who loves exploring nature and finding new textures, patterns and shapes that may inspire my own artwork. I received my B.F.A in Art education from Virginia Commonwealth University and just recently completed my M.A in Art Education from Eastern Illinois University.
