TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I believe the role of an education system is to support a student in developing good character, independence, and a strong sense of self to become a better world citizen.

*23 years teaching Humanities in grades 5th through 8th
*15 years as a private singing teacher
*15 years of teaching middle school theater and musical theater classes

* Bachelor of Science in Arts Management, Northern Arizona University
* Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, Northern Arizona University
* Masters of Music in Vocal Performance, Northern Arizona University
* Post Masters training in vocal pedagogy from CU Boulder, Colorado

* Certification, Elementary Education for grades 1st-8th grade, Westminster College, Salt Lake City
* Science Endorsement in Elementary Education in Utah

 

INTERESTS

Teaching, singing, gardening, cooking, hiking, visiting museums, spending time with my cats, reading and watching mysteries, watching documentaries and period films, attending musical and theatrical performances, being in nature, spending time with my family, and traveling with my best friend!
