Nicole Laird- Business Manager

I am Nicole Laird, former SLArts mom and the school's business manager. Before working at SLArts, I spent four years as the administrative secretary at the Open Classroom charter school. I also spent 10+ years in retail management and owning/operating two small businesses.

Working with school communities is a passion of mine and one of my earliest memories. My mom taught in Uintah and Davis County Schools for 25 years. I spent the better part of my childhood at her school snuggled up with a book in her cozy classroom reading nook, in the media lab creating bulletin boards, or in the cafeteria "testing" the cookies and rolls the lunch ladies would bake. More recently, I served five years on the Open Classroom Steering board as their Secretary, Vice Chair, and Chair. I also served on the Trust Lands Committee at AMES High School for three years.

I’m a lifelong Utahn and can’t imagine living life outside the postcard views of the Wasatch Front. My husband Jeremy and I have lived in Sugarhouse since 2002, raising our two children here. I love coffee and dark chocolate, knitting, sewing, reading, and hanging out with my awesome adult kids. I am excited for the opportunity to learn and grow with this incredible staff and student body.
