Ben Slivnick has been teaching for 9 years and is replacing Becca Travis, who has moved to Boise with her family. Ben and his wife (also a teacher!) came to SLArts from Denver, and holds a Masters in Education from John Hopkins University. We are excited for our students and parents to get to know him.
Markell McCubbin will be leading our School-Wide Positive Behavior Support Program, a whole systems model that teaches preferred behavior expectations in a consistent and positive way. Markell will also be supporting faculty in creating thoughtful learning experiences that are relevant, dynamic and individualized for the various learning styles our students possess.
Amy Mautz is our new School Social Worker. Amy will be working with the Administration, Teachers and other members of the Student Support Team to promote academic and social success.She will assist in serving as a liaison between the school and community, provide crisis intervention and support the developing social and emotional needs of students as they progress through the middle years.
